Upstage Signs Global Collaboration and Strategic Partnership with AWS

Upstage has signed a strategic collaboration with Amazon Web Services (AWS) and secured a minority equity investment from AWS. Through this collaboration, the two companies plan to expand the reach of the Solar language model in the Asia Pacific (APAC) region and the U.S. market, and accelerate joint sales and go-to-market efforts.

Going forward, Upstage will use AWS as its primary cloud provider for building, training, and deploying foundation models. In particular, the company plans to scale its Solar LLM and AI-powered document processing solutions using AWS's machine learning infrastructure, including Amazon SageMaker, AWS Trainium, and Inferentia chips.

The two companies will focus on delivering generative AI solutions optimized for the security and compliance requirements of the public sector, government agencies, and regulated industries.

• Solar Pro 2: A flagship model with 31B parameters, featuring a hybrid architecture that supports Chat Mode for fast responses and Reasoning Mode for logical thinking.
• Document Intelligence: An enterprise-grade document processing solution that extracts key information from unstructured documents such as contracts and invoices and converts it into structured data such as HTML or Markdown.
