Upstage Participates in Korea-U.S. ICT Policy Forum

Upstage attended the 7th Korea-U.S. ICT Policy Forum, held at the U.S. Department of State in Washington, as a representative Korean company and gave a presentation on AI ethics and reliability. This forum is an intergovernmental consultative body between the Ministry of Science and ICT and the U.S. Department of State to promote ICT cooperation.

CEO Kim Sung-hoon emphasized that data is at the core of AI technology development, and introduced '1T Club', a data collection and sharing platform for securing high-quality data. '1T Club' aims to build an ecosystem of mutual growth between data providers and model creators, with the following key features:

• 5 Ethical Principles: Data refinement based on 'human-centered', 'reliability', 'fairness', 'safety', and 'universality'
• Revenue Sharing Model: API usage fee discounts and LLM API revenue sharing proportional to the amount of data provided
• Ecosystem Activation: Resolving copyright issues and securing high-quality data through revenue sharing with content providers

Through this, Upstage plans to address the shortage of Korean-language data and promote the independence of Korean-style LLMs. Having recently demonstrated technology that surpasses GPT-3.5 benchmarks, Upstage continues to expand the popularization of generative AI and the B2B market through 'AskUp', which has 1.4 million users, and the building of enterprise sLLMs.
