YouTube Introduces Automatic Labeling for AI-Generated Videos

YouTube is introducing a feature that automatically detects AI-generated content and attaches labels to videos. This is a measure to prevent the spread of misinformation amid the proliferation of generative AI technology and to strengthen transparency on the platform.

Previously, creators had to directly disclose whether they used AI, but going forward, YouTube's automatic detection technology will identify content containing synthesized video or audio and notify users.

This policy focuses on reducing confusion caused by synthetic media such as deepfakes, and represents an attempt at the platform level to clearly convey the authenticity of content.
