Vercel Expands AWS PrivateLink Support to Pro and Enterprise Teams

Vercel has launched AWS PrivateLink as part of its Advanced Networking feature for Pro and Enterprise teams. This allows Vercel Functions and the build process to securely connect to AWS-hosted services without traversing the public internet.

Range of Connectable Services

Via PrivateLink, you can access the following AWS-based services:

• Databases: RDS, Aurora, Neon, etc.
• SaaS Services: Snowflake, MongoDB Atlas, etc.
• Internal Services: Services located behind an AWS Network Load Balancer
• Storage and NoSQL: S3 or DynamoDB (via gateway endpoints)

Setup Method and Requirements

Enable Advanced Networking in your project's Networking settings, add a new connection, and enter the service name and region. The service must either allow connections from all AWS principals or include the team's IAM role provided by Vercel in its allowlist.

Vercel creates the connection and provides a stable hostname, which Functions and builds can use to privately access the service.

Pricing Policy

• The first AWS PrivateLink connection included in Advanced Networking is free.
• Each additional connection costs $30 per month.
• PrivateLink data transfer costs $0.04 per GB.
