Anthropic Strengthens AWS Collaboration on Trainium-Based AI Development

Anthropic is expanding its collaboration with Amazon Web Services (AWS), and will receive an additional $4 billion investment from Amazon. This brings Amazon's total investment to $8 billion, with AWS serving as Anthropic's core cloud and training partner.

The two companies will work with AWS's Annapurna Labs to focus on developing and optimizing the next generation of Trainium accelerators. Anthropic engineers will contribute to the AWS Neuron software stack and write low-level kernels directly, maximizing the hardware's computational efficiency and using it to train next-generation foundation models.

Claude, available through Amazon Bedrock, is already used as core infrastructure by tens of thousands of enterprises. Pfizer, Intuit, Perplexity, and the European Parliament, among others, are using Claude to accelerate research or analyze complex data, improving operational efficiency.

Customers can fine-tune models including Claude 3 Haiku within Amazon Bedrock, with all data kept securely within the AWS environment. It also meets the strict security and regulatory requirements of government agencies through AWS GovCloud and Secret/Top Secret Cloud Regions.
