Anthropic Signs Partnership with CodePath

Anthropic has partnered with CodePath, the largest provider of university computer science education in the US, to redesign coding curricula as AI transforms the way software is developed. Through this collaboration, more than 20,000 students at community colleges, state universities, and HBCUs (Historically Black Colleges and Universities) will be able to use cutting-edge AI tools such as Claude and Claude Code as part of their coursework.

CodePath will integrate Claude into key AI courses including Foundations of AI Engineering and Applications of AI Engineering. This will allow students to build practical skills by contributing to real open-source projects. In fact, a pilot program in which more than 100 students used Claude Code to contribute to projects such as GitLab, Puter, and Dokploy has already confirmed its effectiveness.

This partnership focuses on addressing inequality in access to technology. Since more than 40% of CodePath students come from households with an annual income under $50,000, the goal is to provide industry-validated education and career networks regardless of economic circumstances, expanding opportunities for these students to become key players in the AI economy.

Beyond CodePath, Anthropic is also driving the expansion of global AI education as follows:

• American Federation of Teachers (AFT): Providing free AI training to 1.8 million members
• Iceland: Collaborating with the Ministry of Education on a national AI education pilot
• Rwanda: Working with the government and ALX to roll out Claude-based learning tools
• The White House: Signed the 'Pledge to America's Youth' to expand investment in cybersecurity and AI education
