Supporting the Speech and ALS/MND Community Through ASHA and the Allied Professionals Forum

ElevenLabs participated in the ASHA and Allied Professionals Forum, carrying out activities to increase communication accessibility for people with speech and motor impairments. In particular, it collaborated with the ALS/MND community to provide technical support so that people who have lost their voice can maintain independence and stay connected with others.

In a 2.5-hour masterclass held together with Bridging Voice, end-to-end voice cloning training using ElevenLabs was conducted. ALS patients, clinicians, and caregivers were trained on how to create digital voices, and participants were given ElevenLabs Pro accounts through the Impact Program to help them immediately clone their own voices.

Through the ElevenLabs Impact Program, the company has set a goal of providing a total of 1 million voices to people experiencing permanent voice loss. To this end, it is collaborating with medical institutions, clinicians, and advocacy organizations around the world, focusing on overcoming the geographic and linguistic limitations of the technology and providing tangible help.

In January, the company plans to participate in the ATIA (Assistive Technology Industry Association) conference. There, through masterclasses and fireside chats, it plans to share how voice cloning can be used within the assistive technology ecosystem, as well as how to use the tools for cultural inclusion and creative expression.
