AWS Releases Claude Fable 5.1 and Amazon Linux 2027 Preview

AWS has released Claude Fable 5.1 via Amazon Bedrock and Claude Platform on AWS. This model is optimized for long-running and high-risk tasks lasting several hours, autonomously handling full codebase features and code reviews. Classified as a Covered Model, it introduces an aws_review mode with up to 30 days of data retention and human safety review.

A public preview of Amazon Linux 2027 (AL2027) was also announced. Based on AL2023, this next-generation operating system runs kernel 7.1+ and enhances performance and security for cloud-native environments, including web applications, databases, and AI/ML workloads.

Performance improvements include the Amazon EC2 R9g and R9gd memory-optimized instances. Equipped with Graviton5 processors, they offer up to 25% improved compute performance and up to 30% faster database processing compared to R8g. Additionally, AWS Lambda SnapStart now supports container image functions, reducing cold start times for latency-sensitive workloads like ML inference to sub-second levels.
