Vercel Offers Free Production Deployment Protection Across All Plans

Vercel now offers Vercel Authentication to protect all deployment URLs, especially production domains, for free across all plans including Hobby, Pro, and Enterprise. Previously, protecting all deployments required the Advanced Deployment Protection add-on at $150/month, but the same functionality is now available without additional cost.

When this feature is enabled, only visitors logged into Vercel with access to the project can access protected deployments. It is useful for securing internal tools, private dashboards, and sites not yet public. To configure it, select Deployment Protection in the project's Security menu and set it to All Deployments. It can also be set as a team default to automatically apply to all new projects.

The Deployment Protection Exceptions feature is also available for free on all plans. This allows specific preview domains to remain public while other deployments in the project stay protected.
