Thomas Nides Joins AI21's Board of Advisors

AI21 has appointed former U.S. Ambassador to Israel Thomas Richard Nides as an independent member of its Board of Advisors.

Drawing on his experience in finance and public policy, Nides will support AI21's enterprise market expansion in North America. He returned to the private sector after serving as U.S. Ambassador to Israel for the past two years.

Nides spent more than a decade at Morgan Stanley, where he held roles including COO, Managing Director, and Vice Chairman. During that time, he was responsible for company-wide operations and global client relationships.

AI21 said the appointment reflects growing interest from large enterprise customers, including in the U.S. financial sector. The company plans to further expand its practical LLM-based solutions in the U.S. market through developer-facing NLP tools and consumer reading/writing tools like Wordtune.

Ori Goshen, co-CEO of AI21, said that moving large language models beyond the experimental stage into large-scale deployment requires not just accuracy but also the ability to handle tasks across diverse markets, including finance. He emphasized that Nides will add valuable perspective on the U.S. financial market.
