Apple Opens Pre-Orders for iPhone 18 Pro, Apple Watch Series 12, and AirPods 5; Launch Set for September 18

Apple announced that pre-orders have begun for the iPhone 18 Pro, iPhone 18 Pro Max, Apple Watch Series 12, Apple Watch Ultra 4, AirPods 5, Mac mini, and Mac Studio. The iPhone 18 Pro series, Apple Watch, and AirPods 5 will be available for purchase starting Friday, September 18, while the Mac mini and Mac Studio will be available starting Tuesday, September 22.

Wearables and Audio

The Apple Watch Series 12 and Ultra 4 feature a new 'Health Sensing System' and the S11 chip, delivering the most accurate heart rate measurements and high-frequency HRV measurements in wearable device history. The Series 12 supports up to 24 hours of battery life, while the Ultra 4 supports up to 50 hours. Both products support Siri AI via watchOS 27, with 'Audio Intelligence' features expected to be added later this year. The AirPods 5 are launching with an open-ear form factor.

Mac Performance

The Mac Studio features M5 Max and M5 Ultra chips, boosting AI performance by up to 4.3x and supporting up to 512GB of unified memory. The Mac mini offers improved performance compared to the previous generation, and the Mac Studio with 512GB of unified memory is scheduled for release in late October.
