Devin Adds Cloud Session Control and SSH Access from Terminal

Devin has released features enabling direct management of cloud sessions from the terminal. Users can start cloud sessions and monitor progress from their local terminal using the devin --cloud command.

Flexible Switching Between Local and Cloud

Using the /handoff command in Devin CLI, users can instantly migrate their current task to a Devin cloud VM. After migration, users can continue to observe and direct the task from the terminal, and the work continues in the background on the cloud even if the laptop is closed. Users can switch sessions to the web or desktop app (/open) or return to the terminal to resume work (/resume).

Enhanced SSH Accessibility for Cloud VMs

Full SSH support has been introduced for VMs dedicated to cloud sessions. Using the devin ssh command, users can connect to remote VMs to browse and edit source code, run development servers with port forwarding, and copy files via scp, utilizing the environment just like a local setup. If final touches are needed, /handoff can be used to bring changes from the cloud (pull request branch) and switch to a local Git checkout.
