OpenAI Expands Learning Paths and Trainer Program for Academy's 2nd Anniversary

OpenAI Academy is expanding its educational reach and strengthening its community-based dissemination strategy to mark its second anniversary. Since its launch in September 2024, it has hosted over 250 events and engaged more than 4 million people with its content.

Introduction of New Learning Paths and Certifications

This month, Learning Paths will be introduced for knowledge workers, developers, leaders, educators, college students, and others. Passing assessments will earn Academy course badges, offering practical workflow learning focused on solving everyday work problems.

Launch of Community Trainer Program

A Community Trainer Program pilot is being launched to enable partner organizations to build their own AI education capabilities. Staff from partner organizations such as schools, workforce development organizations, and small business networks will learn the Academy curriculum and workshop facilitation methods. After passing a facilitation assessment, they will be able to lead sessions themselves.

Partnerships and Future Plans

The program will be co-designed with national and regional organizations based on trust. Building on examples like the AI Skills Jam, which already involved over 1,600 education professionals in 8 US cities, the plan is to continuously develop online courses and workshops based on participant feedback and cultivate practical AI education leaders within communities.
