Apple Releases Final Cut Camera 2.4 with Variable Aperture Support for iPhone 18 Pro

Apple has released version 2.4 of its professional video shooting app Final Cut Camera. This update is provided alongside the release of iOS 27 and utilizes the variable aperture feature supported by the new Fusion main camera on the iPhone 18 Pro.

Variable Aperture and Expanded Cinematic Mode

iPhone 18 Pro users can choose between shutter priority and aperture priority modes, or precisely adjust aperture settings. Additionally, cinematic mode effects can now be applied to standard videos, including those shot in ProRes and Apple Log, enabling focus transitions and depth of field adjustments in Final Cut Pro.

Pro-Grade Monitoring and Output Features

A new design improves accessibility to frequently used settings such as shutter angle, ISO, and white balance. Along with iOS 27, professional video scopes such as RGB Parade and Histogram have been added, allowing for accurate monitoring of color balance and exposure. Furthermore, Clean SDI Output enables the transmission of broadcast-level streaming signals via HDMI-SDI converters, while Genlock Offset allows for the correction of time delays or image artifacts during multi-camera shoots.
