Midjourney Tests Thinking Mode for Image Generation on Alpha Platform

Midjourney is testing a new Thinking Mode for image generation on its Alpha website (alpha.midjourney.com). Users can activate the feature by clicking Rerun (Thinking) in the lower right corner of the lightbox for a specific job.

Internal tests indicate that this mode helps the model improve in prompt accuracy, typography, and coherence. The team is currently gathering user feedback to identify where the mode helps or fails, and to discover other potential issues.

While currently limited to the Alpha platform for testing purposes, Midjourney may make this available more broadly in the future as a dedicated thinking mode or as an option to add more processing after a job completes.
