vaultwarden: Lightweight Rust-based server compatible with Bitwarden clients

The official Bitwarden server can be resource-intensive, making it unsuitable for self-hosted deployments in some cases. Vaultwarden is an alternative server written in Rust that is fully compatible with official Bitwarden clients. It implements most of the features needed for both personal and organizational use, allowing you to keep your existing clients while replacing only the server with a lightweight one.

It supports personal vaults, Send, attachments, website icons, and personal API keys, as well as organization management features. It provides core elements required for organization operations, such as collections, password sharing, member roles, groups, event logs, directory connectors, and policy settings. It also supports various two-factor authentication methods, including Authenticator, email, FIDO2 WebAuthn, YubiKey, and Duo, along with Emergency Access functionality.

Deployment is done via Docker container images, which are available on ghcr.io, docker.io, and quay.io. HTTPS and a secure context are required when using the Web Vault, and configuring a reverse proxy is recommended. This is an independent project unrelated to official Bitwarden, maintained for the self-hosted community.
