short-video-generator-AI: Automatically generate watermark-free short-form videos from a single YouTube link

Input a YouTube link or local video file to process highlight extraction, subtitles, translation, and narration in one go. As a free open-source alternative to paid SaaS tools like OpusClip or Vidyo.ai, the output contains no pre-clips or watermarks.

After generating a timestamped transcript with faster-whisper, a selected LLM from OpenAI, Gemini, or MuAPI analyzes the video type and tempo. It automatically selects the most attention-grabbing scenes by scoring viral elements such as hooks, emotional peaks, and controversial statements on a scale of 0 to 100.

Selected scenes are automatically cropped to a 9:16 vertical aspect ratio, with an option to insert an AI-generated context-based hook at the beginning of the video. In addition to the CLI, a local web interface allows you to queue multiple videos simultaneously and visually adjust rendering options.

Runs in a Python 3.10+ environment and requires LLM API keys and faster-whisper model configuration. Useful for content creators or developers integrating via API into their own projects or building a short-form video production pipeline without subscription fees.
