Kurly Commerce Platform Wraps Up Dev Culture FT Activities... Confirms Preference for Apple Keyboards and Terminal Git

Kurly Commerce Platform's development organization's Dev Culture FT shared its 2022 year-end activity report, 'Kurly Port,' internally, sharing achievements in organizational culture improvement. The FT consists of 7 facilitators who voluntarily participate from 7 teams, flexibly carrying out work alongside their main duties without fixed roles.

Developer Survey Results

A survey of employees revealed Kurly developers' key tool usage habits and cultural preferences.

• Keyboards: Over about 45% use an Apple Magic Keyboard or MacBook keyboard, preferring personal taste and portability advantages.
• Git Usage: About 70% prefer using terminal commands over IDE built-in features, forming an 'original style.'
• Dev Culture: Over 3/4 of developers picked 'code review' as the best dev culture, with efficient team-specific PR rules and genuine reviews having taken root.

FT Operations and Future Plans

To address the initial problem of workload imbalance, the FT has selected and improved tasks by using time when everyone gathers together, rather than individual assignments. In 2023, to spread PR culture within the organization, they plan to open-source 'Code Kurly,' a service currently under internal testing. This is a PR culture improvement tool that other companies could also adopt, and strengthening the technical substance of both the organization and individuals is the FT's ultimate goal.
