Kurly Commerce System Developer's Interview Prep Strategy and DDD-Based Team Growth Story

Kurly Commerce System server developer Hwang Ji-hye shared her interview preparation strategy before joining and her growth experience within the team after joining. During interview preparation, she focused on solidifying fundamentals such as the internal structure of Java's ArrayList and HashMap, and Spring's IoC and Bean lifecycle, while also checking her understanding of MySQL indexes and Micro-Service.

After joining, she grew by applying DDD (Domain-Driven Design) and hexagonal architecture in practice. As a developer accustomed to the MVC pattern, she worked with her teammates to read books and share insights in order to learn domain-model-centered design, and carried out missions to improve related code. Through this process, she experienced a genuine DDD culture that combined technical challenges with communication with business departments.

Team-level support for growth is also notable. Through the weekly Tech Weekly, knowledge is shared, and Git is used not merely as a source management tool but as a 'time machine,' building history management skills. In addition, through a code review culture that requires approval from 2 or more people and a 'mistake management culture' that looks for improvements rather than blaming mistakes, code is being improved from diverse perspectives.
