Introducing LangSmith Fleet

LangChain has launched LangSmith Fleet (formerly LangSmith Agent Builder), an enterprise workspace for creating, using, and managing agents. The platform enables agents to have their own memory, leverage various tools and skills, and carry out work through the everyday communication channels teams use.

To address the growing complexity of management as agent creation becomes easier, it provides the following core features:

• Creating agents through simple prompts
• Sharing agents across a centralized team
• Permission management that controls edit, run, and clone rights
• Agent identities and credentials that define tool authentication methods
• Inbox for activity tracking and approvals
• Observability that provides an auditable record

The permission model consists of three tiers—Clone, Run, and Edit—and permissions can be set for individual users or for the entire workspace.

Agent authentication operates under two models. The "Claws" model, which uses fixed credentials, is useful when an entire team uses tools with the same permissions, while the "Assistant" model, which acts on behalf of a user's permissions, is suited for cases where each user's individual access rights need to be maintained. In addition, each agent can have its own Slack bot, allowing team members to directly mention a specific agent to assign it work.
