Kakao FE Platform Team Reveals Large-Scale Service Development and Tech Stack

The Kakao FE Platform Team consists of three parts: the Biz Infra FE Part, responsible for maps, advertising, and business support services; the Talk FE Part, responsible for the KakaoTalk web version; and the Content FE Part, responsible for content platforms, developing large-scale services used by the entire national population.

Tech Stack and Development Environment The team uses both JavaScript and TypeScript, with approximately 44% of all projects applying versions from ES2016 onwards. The primary frameworks are React and Vue.js, with React having a slightly higher usage share. State management utilizes Redux, Vuex, and MobX, while Jest, Jasmine, and Cypress.io have been introduced for test automation to reduce operational costs. Additionally, various development tools such as Github Enterprise, Jenkins, Docker, and Kubernetes are utilized.

Collaboration and Growth Culture In the FE Platform Team, nearly 90% of crews collaborate with two or more members, strengthening development capabilities through code reviews. Weekly team meetings, seminars, and study groups have established a culture that lowers the barrier to adopting new technologies and shares knowledge.
