Kakao Holds First Internal Tech Seminar 'Techtalk', Sharing Insights on MSA, Pair Programming, and Unit Testing

Kakao held its first internal technical seminar, 'Techtalk', to share challenges encountered during development beyond organizational boundaries and foster growth. Previously, know-how was conveyed verbally or remained within individual teams; this seminar aims to spread a culture of knowledge sharing across the community.

The first Techtalk covered three key technical topics.

• MSA Adoption Case Study: Kakao's Digital Item Server Development Part shared the background and progress of adopting MSA (Microservices Architecture) to resolve technical debt and ensure scalability for the growing emoticon service.
• Pair Programming Experience: Kakao Enterprise introduced the pros and cons of pair programming and its practical application in team operations, based on Agile methodology and Pivotal Lab case studies.
• Unit Testing Practices: Kakao's SA Development Part analyzed issues encountered while securing test coverage and presented principles for writing good test code along with refactoring clues.

Presenters evaluated that the preparation process itself served as a learning opportunity to organize knowledge and receive feedback. The next Techtalk is scheduled to cover data-related topics such as ML, DL, and recommendation systems.
