Kakao Unveils 'Career Boost Program' for Cloud Developer Career Transition

Kakao has unveiled the 'Kakao Career Boost Program for Cloud', designed to help individuals transition into cloud-native developers. This educational program is structured to enable personnel with development skills but no cloud experience to grow into cloud developers within 2 months.

9-Week Hands-On Curriculum

The training spans a total of 9 weeks. The first 3 weeks consist of common courses, including the cloud platform team's work methods and basic environment setup exercises. The subsequent 6 weeks focus on acquiring practical knowledge within each part/cell.

• Cloud Native Part: Building and monitoring service environments based on Krane (OpenStack) and Kubernetes (DK)
• Cloud Telemetry Part: Hands-on integration of Fluentd, Kafka, and Prometheus, and Helm deployment
• Application Platform Part: Understanding API gateways and PaaS with tools like Envoy, Istio, and Knative
• Cloud S&M Platform Part: Hands-on work with distributed storage, Push Notification (FCM, APNS), and message gateway systems

Developer Interviews and Info Sessions

Developers from the cloud platform team noted that while the cloud learning curve is steep, systematic training and support from team members allow for quick adaptation. They particularly highlighted the advantage of solving various engineering challenges while handling Kakao's large-scale traffic.

Info sessions are scheduled for interested applicants on March 13 (Sat) from 10 PM to 12 AM on Clubhouse, and on March 17 (Wed) from 8 PM to 9 PM on Zoom.
