Replit Launches 'Extensions'

Replit has officially launched Replit Extensions to meet the diverse needs of the developer community. This announcement aims to help developers directly control their own tools and build customized environments.

To secure extensibility, Replit has been improving core primitives, advancing its layout system, and refactoring the code editor into a more composable structure. In particular, the company focused on building a stable extension system by reviewing various security paradigms to secure both security and flexibility at the same time.

Through the Extension Store, extensions created by community members are now immediately available for use. Developers can build their own tools using the provided developer docs and templates.

Going forward, Replit plans to add more features to Extensions, and also plans to introduce a payment system that will allow developers to monetize the tools they build.
