Code Annotations Launched (Teams for Education Support)

Replit has launched a Code Annotations feature for Teams for Education users, allowing them to leave messages tied to specific parts of code.

Users can select a specific section of code to write and send a message, and the created annotation provides an environment for real-time, chat-like conversation with collaborators. This allows students and teachers to resolve questions about syntax or immediately discuss decision-making processes during code review.

In particular, this addresses the lack of a 'shoulder-to-shoulder debugging' experience that occurs in remote learning environments. The key point is that users can exchange real-time feedback while maintaining code context, without the hassle of switching between the editor and a separate chat platform.

Currently, this feature is available as a beta version for Teams for Education users, and is planned to be expanded to all users in the future.
