Doo-sutgal Study Session 1

The first meeting of the Doo-sutgal Study began with self-introductions from participants, each sharing what kind of development they do and why they joined the study. In particular, the phrase "a semi-forced signup by Hoseong" was memorably mentioned, and the writer stated a goal of wanting to make better technical decisions for their team through this study.

Next, the group discussed rules for how to run the study. Since it takes place weekly, both preparation beforehand and follow-up afterward are needed, so it was noted that clear agreements are important to keep everyone studying together consistently.

This was followed by Namhong's Django Introduction session. After briefly covering the origins and history of Django and setting up the development environment, the session explained step by step the request-handling process from when a browser request comes in until a response is returned.

During the explanation, the flow was organized based on a diagram drawn on the whiteboard, which another attendee later redrew more neatly and shared on Slack. The writer noted that while this process isn't easy to grasp all at once, the experience of tracing through the detailed flow firsthand helps build solid knowledge.

Finally, as befits a first meeting, some parts didn't go smoothly, but the writer reflected that simply taking the first step was meaningful in itself. Looking forward to being able to discuss more comfortably as the sessions continue, the writer also noted plans to personally trace through Django's entire processing flow using a debugger.
