Deezer Says 44% of Songs Uploaded Daily to Its Platform Are AI-Generated

Deezer announced that it is receiving AI-generated tracks at a scale of 75,000 songs per day, which corresponds to 44% of all new uploads.

The share of AI music in consumption on the platform remains low, at 1-3% of total streams, and 85% of that is detected as fraudulent streaming and excluded from revenue distribution.

Deezer explained that the inflow of AI music continues to grow rapidly. The figures disclosed by the company started at 10,000 songs/day in January 2025, then rose to 30,000 songs/day in September, 50,000 songs/day in November, 60,000 songs/day in January 2026, and 75,000 songs/day as of this announcement.

Songs tagged as AI are:

• Excluded from algorithmic recommendations
• Not included in editorial playlists
• Deezer also stated that it will now no longer store hi-res versions of AI tracks.

Deezer said that it tagged more than 13.4 million AI tracks on the platform over the course of 2025.

The company also reported that in a survey conducted last November, 97% of respondents could not distinguish between fully AI-generated music and human-made music. In the same survey, 52% said that fully AI-generated songs should not appear alongside human songs on main charts, and 80% said that AI-generated music should be clearly labeled.

Competing services are also responding. Qobuz has announced plans to tag AI content, while Spotify and Apple Music are combining filtering of low-quality AI music with transparency measures.
