Gemini Enterprise Agent Platform - Google Cloud's Next-Generation AI Agent Integration Platform

Google Cloud has officially launched the Gemini Enterprise Agent Platform, which extends and integrates the existing Vertex AI.

The platform manages the entire agent lifecycle under Build, Scale, Govern, Optimize. Development starts in Agent Studio and ADK (Agent Development Kit), while execution is handled by Agent Runtime.

Key features are as follows.

• Memory Bank automatically manages long-term memory based on conversations
• Agent Identity, Registry, Gateway handle agent identification, approved tool management, and security policy enforcement
• Agent Simulation, Evaluation, Observability provide pre-deployment simulation, automated evaluation, and observation of reasoning flows
• Agent Optimizer analyzes failure patterns and suggests improvements to system instructions

Model selection has also been broadened. Through Model Garden, access to over 200 models is available, supporting not only Google's Gemini family but also third-party models such as Anthropic's Claude.

On the security side, Agent Sandbox isolates code execution, while Agent Anomaly Detection and Threat Detection detect abnormal reasoning and risky behavior. The Agent Security dashboard tracks agent-model relationships and even checks for vulnerabilities.

Through this platform, Google has made clear its strategy to elevate AI beyond simple model provision into agent operations infrastructure. The structure allows existing Vertex AI customers to naturally migrate to the new platform.
