As services and deployment frequency surge in Cloud Native environments, the complexity of underlying systems that developers must manage—such as GitHub, Kubernetes, and CI/CD pipelines—is increasing. This leads to a problem where developers spend more time on preparation tasks like environment setup and permission requests than on actual feature implementation.

The kt cloud Platform Engineering Team aims to have the platform absorb this complexity, creating an environment where developers can focus on their essential work. To this end, they are progressively building the following systems:

• Providing standard architecture and development templates
• Building CI/CD pipelines and operational automation systems
• Implementing a Self-Service-based operations portal and infrastructure management environment

Through this, they aim to move away from "development that only starts when someone else does something for you," toward a Self-Service-based engineering system where developers can configure the environment they need on their own and start developing immediately.
