Agents for Financial Services and Insurance

Anthropic has unveiled 10 agent templates for financial services. These configurations automate repetitive tasks like pitchbook creation, KYC file review, and month-end close with Claude, and are provided as Claude Cowork, Claude Code plugins, and a cookbook for Claude Managed Agents.

The templates are a reference architecture combining skills, connectors, and subagents. They're designed to be customized to each financial firm's modeling rules, risk policies, and approval processes.

The main templates are as follows.

• Research / client coverage: Pitch builder, Meeting preparer, Earnings reviewer, Model builder, Market researcher
• Finance / operations: Valuation reviewer, General ledger reconciler, Month-end closer, Statement auditor, KYC screener

They also highlighted the Microsoft 365 add-in that connects Claude with Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook (coming soon). In Excel, it handles model building and formula auditing; in PowerPoint, automatic updates matching number changes; in Word, credit memo editing; and in Outlook, email classification and draft reply writing. They also emphasized that context automatically carries over between apps.

The partner ecosystem has also expanded. Dun & Bradstreet, Fiscal AI, Financial Modeling Prep, Guidepoint, IBISWorld, SS&C IntraLinks, Third Bridge, Verisk connectors have been added, and Moody's has made credit ratings and data on over 600 million companies available inside Claude through its own MCP app.

Anthropic stated that this configuration works best with Claude Opus 4.7, is strong at financial tasks, and scored 64.37% on the Vals AI Finance Agent benchmark. The new templates are available in the marketplace starting today, with Managed Agents in public beta, Excel/PowerPoint/Word add-ins at GA, and Outlook not yet released.
