Google, Gemini 3.1 Flash-Lite General Availability

Google has moved Gemini 3.1 Flash-Lite to General Availability (GA), offering it to Google Cloud customers. This model is the latest in the Gemini 3 lineup, targeting organizations that need ultra-low latency and high-volume processing.

Flash-Lite is positioned as the fastest and most cost-efficient Gemini 3 model. It delivers sub-second responses for classification tasks, and even under high-concurrency conditions, p95 latency for full response generation is around 1.8 seconds.

The model supports multimodal capabilities covering both text and images. It is also well-suited for agentic tasks such as tool calling and orchestration, making it usable in real-time development environments and customer service operations.

Google stated that companies like JetBrains, Gladly, and Ramp are using Flash-Lite to balance speed, cost, and cognitive performance. The core message is to advance latency, pricing, and agentic capability together for enterprise-scale automation.
