AI in Korea: OpenAI's Proposed Economic Blueprint

Korea is poised to become a next-generation AI powerhouse, backed by world-class semiconductor manufacturing capabilities, digital infrastructure, and top-tier talent. In its recently released Economic Blueprint, OpenAI presents a plan for Korea to leverage these strengths to expand trustworthy AI adoption across the economy.

This blueprint builds on recent achievements, including memory supply collaboration with Samsung and SK through the Stargate initiative, and discussions with the Ministry of Science and ICT (MSIT) on building next-generation AI data centers.

As a core strategy, it proposes a Dual-track strategy:

• Strategic collaboration: accelerating the adoption of cutting-edge technology through partnerships with frontier AI developers such as OpenAI.
