OpenAI Unveils OpenAI for Countries

As part of the Stargate Project for building AI infrastructure within the U.S., OpenAI is introducing OpenAI for Countries to support nations that want to build AI infrastructure based on democratic values. This aims to spread an AI ecosystem that protects free competition and democratic principles in response to authoritarian AI models.

Through this partnership, OpenAI will provide the following collaboration:

• Local Data Center Construction: Protects a nation's data sovereignty, fosters local industry, and supports customized AI utilization.
• Customized ChatGPT: Enhances the quality of healthcare, education, and public services through ChatGPT optimized for each country's language and culture.
• Strengthened Security and Safety Controls: Continuously advances safety processes, including data center and physical security, in line with improvements in model performance.
• Country-Specific Startup Fund Formation: Combines OpenAI and local capital to create an AI ecosystem that generates new jobs and companies.
• Stargate Project Expansion: Strengthens U.S.-led AI leadership and a democratic AI network as partner countries join the global Stargate Project.

As the first step of this initiative, OpenAI plans to pursue 10 projects with individual countries or regions.
