A Journey Toward Trustworthy AI: Introducing LG AI Research's 'AI Ethics Seminar'

LG AI Research believes that responsible development and use of AI are as important as advancing AI technology itself, and to this end, it is running an AI Ethics Seminar in which diverse members of the organization participate.

In the seminar, AI researchers, business developers, UI/UX designers, data scientists, policy planners, and others come together to explore the ethical challenges of AI and discuss ways to apply them in practice.

According to a recent user survey, generative AI users were divided into a group that sees AI as "an intern who will grow together with them" and a group that sees it as "an entity that gives perfect answers." In particular, the latter group tended to react sensitively to Hallucination phenomena, which led to churn from the service.

LG AI Research aims to build a trustworthy AI ecosystem by moving beyond an 'Enlightenment-style attitude' that simply maximizes efficiency and automation, and instead taking a philosophical approach that can reflect human emotions, context, and the narratives of life.
