Factory Scales Cloud Backend to 1 Billion Monthly Requests on Vercel

Factory operates API routes, middleware, and webhook handlers on a single Next.js backend on Vercel, handling 1 billion requests per day. It scaled all backend workloads, from customer-facing APIs to authentication, routing, and log drain pipelines, on one platform.

Factory responded to rapidly increasing traffic by adjusting memory limits and function execution times without a dedicated infrastructure team. Fluid compute supports function reuse to reduce cold start impact, keeping p95 response times under 350ms.

Vercel is also used for internal tool development. Non-technical teams use Droids in the Factory Desktop App or CLI to call the Vercel API and automatically handle configuration, builds, and deployments.
