Cloudflare OS: An Open Platform for Agents, Apps, and Work

Cloudflare has released Cloudflare OS, an open-source platform that connects organizational workflows, knowledge, and internal systems to AI agents. Organizations can deploy it directly, connect internal tools and data, and configure it to fit their specific workflows.

Since May, Cloudflare has provided the first version to all employees. Thousands of people, including those outside engineering, have used it for tasks such as writing documents and slides, automating repetitive tasks, and building small apps for data visualization. Teams have shared glossaries, procedures, and repetitive task guidelines in a shared library.

The first version focused on private per-user workspaces and agent conversations, but issues emerged regarding token waste from static apps and repetitive agent executions, as well as permission management in collaborative processes. In particular, MCP servers showed tools that agents could call but did not explain which actual resources the agents had observed.

The new version integrates security as a core feature of the platform. Users can leverage organization-curated contexts and skills in browser conversations, and assign goals to workspaces connected to existing tools and data to perform tasks.
