AWS Announces Plans to Establish Builder Lofts in Berlin, Hyderabad, and São Paulo

AWS is expanding AWS Builder Loft, permanent community spaces where developers and students can learn, connect, and contribute. Since opening the first space in San Francisco in July 2025, more than 22,500 developers have visited, fostering local tech communities through hackathons, workshops, and demo nights.

The newly announced Builder Lofts in Berlin, Hyderabad, and São Paulo are set to serve as technology hubs for their respective regions:

• Berlin: Linked to the launch of the AWS European Sovereign Cloud, it will support the European startup ecosystem by hosting education on digital sovereignty, security workshops, and hackathons.
• Hyderabad: Provides a dedicated space for Indian developers to acquire AI and cloud-native architecture skills and build next-generation applications.
• São Paulo: As a technology hub in Latin America, it will serve as a hub for local developers by collaborating with local communities and universities to offer free programming education.

Builder Lofts operate on a community-led model. AWS provides the space, infrastructure, and support, while local developers and tech leaders directly determine the actual program structure. The spaces are flexibly designed to serve as education and demo stages on weekdays and community gathering places on weekends.
