Gguge Adopts Recommendation Service

Upstage has signed a 'Gguge Recommendation Service Adoption and Usage Agreement' with Glorang, providing a hyper-personalized class recommendation solution to the online kids school Gguge. It will be used as the underlying technology for a talent management service that diagnoses children's talents and presents learning and growth roadmaps suited to their growth potential.

Upstage emphasized that as demand for non-face-to-face education and edtech has grown since the pandemic, the importance of AI that helps students learn according to their level and aptitude has increased further. Upstage highlighted its technical capabilities based on papers at international conferences such as NeurlPS, AAAI, ACL, EMNLP, and its achievement of being the first Korean company to win double-digit Kaggle gold medals.

After launching Gguge, a non-face-to-face kids class platform for ages 5-13, in November 2020, Glorang has grown 40% monthly based on class transactions. It stated that it currently has over 2,000 cumulative classes and about 1,000 teachers, making it the No. 1 non-face-to-face kids class platform by traffic.

Upstage has also continued its education AI research. In February, it presented a paper on knowledge tracing AI, a core technology for personalized learning, at The Web Conference 2022, introducing research that tracks students' understanding through their learning records and incorporates contrastive learning.
