Upstage Launches AI Challenge Program for Enterprises

Upstage AI Challenge is an education program designed to improve the skills of AI personnel within companies and discover talent both inside and outside the organization. It is designed to fit each company's situation, targeting personnel with basic AI programming skills, engineers seeking to transition into AI, employees looking to enhance their AI capabilities, and business personnel who need AI fundamentals.

The program focuses on identifying a company's AI problems and helping to improve AI model performance through data. It aims at developing models that can be applied to services and advancing those services, and provides an instructor team with field experience, mentoring from AI/CS experts and a Kaggle Master, and a step-by-step curriculum tailored to each company's problems.

Upstage is also developing its own platform called AI Stages to enable education and challenges to be run together. CEO Kim Sung-hoon explained that the curriculum was designed so that employees can experience the hands-on work of identifying AI problems within their company, setting goals, and solving them. The plan is to support companies in achieving growth targets, strengthening internal workforce capabilities, and nurturing talent, in line with the AI transformation of enterprises that has been accelerated by COVID-19.

Alongside this, Upstage is also identifying areas where companies can innovate and providing consulting that includes building the necessary basic AI models and systems, as well as an AI team. Having drawn interest from domestic companies, Upstage is now expanding into the global market, including establishing a Hong Kong branch.
