Upstage introduces GPT-4 to AskUp

Upstage has introduced OpenAI's next-generation language model GPT-4 to AskUp, its KakaoTalk-based OCR chatbot. AskUp is a service that reads text from document photos or images sent by users and provides answers, and it grew rapidly, surpassing 200,000 users just 12 days after launch.

With the application of GPT-4, support for 27 languages including Korean has expanded, along with broader usability for document processing and question-answering across fields such as law, medicine, and education. To mark this, Upstage has expanded its existing benefit of 100 free messages per day and will additionally provide 10 GPT-4 usage credits per day.

Upstage also stated that it applied more sophisticated fine-tuning and optimized processes, boosting response speed by more than 2x. Going forward, the company plans to continue daily updates to reduce hallucination and limitations in reflecting real-time information, and also plans to pursue collaboration with OpenAI.
