Upstage and KT Sign MOU for ESG Paperless DX Collaboration

Upstage and KT signed an 'AI-based Paperless DX Business Collaboration for ESG Sustainable Management' MOU on the 27th. Amid growing demand for electronic document conversion driven by the government's mandatory ESG disclosure, the two companies are expanding B2B collaboration centered on document processing automation.

This collaboration focuses on addressing demand for electronic document conversion and storage, improving work efficiency based on AI OCR, and discovering convergence-type businesses amid B2B market digital transformation. In particular, the companies will strengthen cloud-based paperless solutions for mid-sized and small-to-medium enterprises, and pursue joint sales and marketing across various industries including finance, IT, manufacturing, and distribution.

Upstage highlighted its technical capabilities, having won four titles at the OCR competition hosted by ICDAR. The company explained that its Document AI Pack can process various documents with a single click, can reduce costs and time by up to 82% compared to existing manual work, and can achieve high performance using only a quarter of the data compared to global competitors thanks to its pretrained models.

Going forward, Upstage plans to support the integration of OCR into KT's group-wide digitization workplace as KT's AI technology advisory partner. Building on service collaboration experience such as AskUp Seargest, the company also plans to expand into AI innovation and hyper-personalized recommendation areas for enterprise customers.
