Prompt injection analysis confirms OpenRouter's anonymous model 'OX Alpha' is Z.ai's GLM

An unidentified LLM named 'OX Alpha' appeared on OpenRouter, rising to the top of the leaderboard and sparking speculation that it might be a Google Gemini model, but analysis confirmed it to be Z.ai's GLM model.

Analysts used prompt injection techniques to extract the model's system prompt. The prompt included instructions forcing the model to claim it was 'ox-alpha' and that its development organization was private, but these were bypassed to determine its actual identity.

Additionally, parametric memory tests and bidirectional fact verification conducted via Auxy showed that the model uses weak or outdated training data. Numerous clear factual errors and fact conflations, rarely found in Gemini models, were discovered, supporting the conclusion that it is a GLM-based model rather than Gemini.
