Anthropic Enhances Claude Features for Financial Services

Anthropic is expanding Claude for Financial Services by introducing an Excel add-in, real-time market data connectors, and new Agent Skills such as building discounted cash flow (DCF) models.

This update is built on Sonnet 4.5, which recorded the best performance with 55.3% accuracy on the Finance Agent benchmark. This helps financial professionals automate complex, time-consuming tasks within the tools they already use.

Released in beta, Claude for Excel allows Claude to be used directly within the Microsoft Excel sidebar. Claude not only reads and analyzes workbooks, but also performs tasks such as modifying content while preserving formula structure, debugging errors, and filling templates with new data.

Additionally, to maximize access to real-time information, Connectors with the following specialized data platforms have been added:

• Chronograph: Provides financial and operational data for private equity operations
• Egnyte: Supports secure internal data room and investment document search
• LSEG: Connects real-time market data for bonds, equities, and foreign exchange
