SK Planet Reflects on 'Tech-driven Education' to Strengthen Developer Competency in the AI Era

SK Planet reflected on the education and growth programs it operated from Q1 to Q3 2025 under the leadership of its development organization, presenting strategies to strengthen developer competitiveness and enable timely product launches in the AI era. Following Chairman Chey Tae-won's emphasis on AI utilization, the programs were designed to go beyond simple tool introductions and embed development paradigms such as MCP, Agentic AI, and ADLC into work processes.

AI and Tech Insight Seminars

Through company-wide technical seminars (DTC) and other channels, external experts were invited to share the latest trends. Following the company-wide rollout of GitHub Copilot, new technology seminars were held, and support for grasping AI trends was provided through a recap of NVIDIA GTC 2025 and an introduction to MCP (Model Context Protocol). In addition, case studies on the adoption of Cursor and internal applications of RAG, Agent, and vibe coding were shared, confirming that AI tools can increase development productivity by 5 to 10 times. However, it was learned that final responsibility for AI-generated code lies with the developer, and unvalidated vibe coding projects can be halted.

Hands-on Based Upskilling and Reskilling

Through practice-oriented hands-on training, sessions were held on RAG & AI Agent development, Docker & Kubernetes deployment, Redis failure drills, and using Figma MCP with GitHub Copilot. In particular, the Redis hands-on session received very high developer satisfaction, with voluntary reviews shared on the internal Confluence. For Reskilling training aimed at those undergoing job role changes, core courses such as Java Spring and React/TypeScript were provided through a combination of offline and online formats, shortening the adaptation time to new roles. The utilization rate of AI coding tools in actual work reached 77%.

Revitalizing Tech Blog and Community

The internal tech blog was used as a 'playground' to support the skill development of members. The post 'Improving UI Component Development Efficiency with Figma MCP,' contributed to Square Devotion, achieved both quantitative and qualitative success, recording 11,000 views. Additionally, two presentations, including one on AI-based ad revenue optimization, were given at SK AI SUMMIT 2025, achieving both personal branding for developers and the sharing of company case studies. The app developer community shifted to a tech-lead-driven information sharing approach in line with the Product-centered organizational structure.
