Anthropic Joins CMS Health Tech Ecosystem Pledge to Strengthen Healthcare Data Interoperability

Anthropic has joined the U.S. CMS (Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services)'s 'Health Tech Ecosystem' pledge, aimed at modernizing healthcare data sharing and improving patient care outcomes. This collaboration aims to have government and industry work together to solve healthcare data interoperability challenges.

Anthropic plans to use its own Model Context Protocol (MCP) to build intelligent bridges between various incompatible data systems. Through this, AI assistants will be able to securely access CMS Aligned Networks and personal health records, helping patients more easily understand their health information and receive appropriate care.

Going forward, Anthropic will collaborate with insurers, healthcare providers, data platforms, and consumer technology companies to gather patient data. Through this, the company aims to build a healthcare ecosystem where Claude can be used to responsibly and actionably leverage both clinical and non-clinical data.
