Claude Comes to Microsoft Foundry

With the expansion of the partnership between Microsoft and Anthropic, the Claude Sonnet 4.5, Haiku 4.5, and Opus 4.1 models are now available in public preview on Microsoft Foundry. Azure customers can leverage their existing Microsoft ecosystem to build enterprise applications and agents using Claude models optimized for coding, agentic, and office tasks.

Developers can access the models through Claude Code, and they are also integrated with Microsoft 365 Copilot and Excel's Agent Mode. In Excel in particular, Claude can be used to directly generate formulas, analyze data, identify errors, and iterate on solutions.

The characteristics of each model are as follows:

• Sonnet 4.5: The top-performing model, optimized for complex reasoning, multistep agentic workflows, and autonomous coding tasks.
• Haiku 4.5: Offers high speed and cost efficiency, suitable for high-volume processing such as customer support automation and real-time coding assistance.
• Opus 4.1: Specialized for complex, expert-level reasoning tasks that require precise attention.

With this integration, enterprises can adopt Claude immediately through their existing Azure agreement (MACC) without a separate vendor contract. All models support a range of features, including code execution, web search, vision, and prompt caching.
