Microsoft, NVIDIA, Anthropic Announce Strategic Partnership

Anthropic will expand its Claude AI models on Microsoft Azure, built on NVIDIA technology. Anthropic has committed to spending $30 billion on Azure compute capacity, and plans to secure up to 1GW of additional compute capacity.

NVIDIA and Anthropic will collaborate through a technology partnership to optimize model performance, efficiency, and TCO (total cost of ownership), and to work together on optimizing future NVIDIA architectures for Anthropic workloads. To this end, they plan to secure up to 1GW of compute capacity using NVIDIA Grace Blackwell and Vera Rubin systems.

The collaboration between Microsoft and Anthropic is also expanding, with Microsoft Foundry customers gaining access to the following Claude frontier models:

• Claude Sonnet 4.5
• Claude Opus 4.1
• Claude Haiku 4.5

In addition, Claude will continue to be available across the Microsoft Copilot product family, including GitHub Copilot, Microsoft 365 Copilot, and Copilot Studio. As part of this partnership, NVIDIA will invest up to $10 billion in Anthropic, and Microsoft will invest up to $5 billion.

Meanwhile, Amazon remains Anthropic's primary cloud provider and training partner.
