Cognizant signs partnership with Anthropic

IT consulting firm Cognizant is adopting Anthropic's Claude to help enterprise clients and internal teams move beyond the AI experimentation stage into actual production. Cognizant will deploy Claude to up to 350,000 employees worldwide, combining it with agentic tools and its own engineering platform to create substantial enterprise-scale outcomes.

In particular, the company will use Claude Code to accelerate coding, testing, documentation, and DevOps workflows. It will also integrate Claude models, Claude Code, the Model Context Protocol (MCP), and the Agent SDK with its core engineering platform, enabling clients to integrate AI with their existing data and applications and to orchestrate multi-step tasks under human oversight.

Through this partnership, Cognizant will address the following key challenges:

• Software Engineering Productivity: Combining the Flowsource™ Platform with Claude to provide MCP-based access to development tools and accelerate workflows.
• Legacy Modernization: Leveraging Anthropic's code comprehension capabilities to speed up the analysis and refactoring of large-scale codebases.
• Agentification: Using Neuro® AI Multi-Agent Orchestration and the Agent SDK to design custom multi-agent systems that include policies and human approval.
• Industry-specific Solutions: Building agentic workflows via Agent Foundry that work even in regulated environments such as financial services.
• Responsible AI: Adhering to open standards such as MCP to drive safe deployment and operations aligned with enterprise governance requirements.
