A new way to browse the web with Chrome's AI Mode

Chrome's AI Mode is changing how you browse the web. On desktop, clicking a link in AI Mode opens the webpage side-by-side with AI Mode, so you can compare and ask follow-up questions without losing context by switching between tabs.

For example, when choosing a coffee machine, you can describe your requirements in AI Mode, then bring up a seller's page alongside it and immediately ask a question like "Is this product easy to clean?" It provides more useful answers by drawing on both the page's content and context from across the web, and it also supports flows for browsing related sites in succession, as in the McLaren Racing example.

A recent tabs search feature has also been added. From the new plus menu on Chrome desktop and mobile, you can select recent tabs to include in your search, and you can also add context beyond tabs, such as images or PDF files.

This feature makes tasks like trip planning, organizing study materials, and navigating long articles or videos more seamless. AI Mode tools like Canvas and image creation are also directly accessible from this new plus menu. This update is currently available in the United States and will expand to more regions soon.
