YouTube offers a 0-minute setting for Shorts watch time

A 0-minute option has been added to the Shorts feed time limit in the YouTube app. Previously, only a minimum of 15 minutes was possible, but now users can manage Shorts consumption down to cutting it off entirely or hiding it from the screen.

This feature is an expansion of the Shorts timer introduced in October 2024. It was initially applied mainly to parental accounts, and is now being rolled out gradually to general users as well.

When the time limit reaches 0 minutes:

• The Shorts tab only displays the message "You've reached your Shorts feed limit."
• Shorts also disappear from the home screen.

The setting path is as follows.

• Settings → Time management → Enable Shorts feed limit → Select time

The key point is that this isn't just about getting users to watch Shorts a bit less—it provides an option to block Shorts almost entirely if the user wants. YouTube is expanding its features in a direction that gives users who want to reduce or completely hide their Shorts consumption stronger control.
